I have an infatuation with point n clicks. So many games classify as
point n clicks that you wouldn't think do! Portal counts as a point n
click! and Life is Strange!!! But even mechanically traditional point n
clicks are fantastic. If you're looking for a new game, then i recommend
trying one from a genre you're blind too. It's fun to explore stuff
you'd never otherwise try.
The series Rusty Lake has games that i
just love. I couldn't off the top of my head give one or two bulleted
reasons why! Maybe it's the unique combination of escape room puzzling
and ambient horror or general garish aesthetic. Maybe it's the
characters you only barley know. Maybe it's the fun clicking around
slamming things together to see if it would crack whatever code the game
implores you to figure out. The white door is my personal favorite from
the story, taking an entirely new approach both mechanically and
story-wise compared to the rest of the games in the franchise. The character you play as becomes surprisingly lovable
despite the lack of direct connection with anything about him. It's this
lack of concrete information that i think pushes the game to being
enjoyable the way that it is.
It isn't for everyone, it has its
buggy moments and at times can be a complete slog to try and puzzle your
way through. Sometimes the achievements wont trigger, leaving you
huffing in agony at the fact you have to redo a puzzle that wasn't fun
in the first place. But something about the vague false linear story
line keep me on the end of the line.

I remember stumbling on some of these games years ago.
I was young and I couldn't figure out some puzzles, but I loved the visuals.
I played Rusty Lake Hotel (which gave me chills. For a kid, it was creepy); Cube Escape: Harvey's Box (rip parrot); Cube Escape: Arles (I loved this one bc VAN GOGH); Cube Escape: The Lake and Cube Escape: Seasons (this one was also disturbing).
I'm glad you also enjoy Rusty Lake games. :)

What a perfect time to stumble on them!!! They are certainly disturbingly beautiful games. One of my personal favorites of the Cube Escape series has to be The mill. Something about the aesthetics and visuals was eerily nostalgic and beautiful. I am glad to have found these games too!!! <: 3 )~
