Oh, my gods. This weekend I had a little fun and gotten a little overboard with Melody. I've decided last year (around March?) that I was going to make dolls of my Vampire the Masquerade (table top) OCs. Melody is my first lady to have make. She's a Gangrel and works in the Camarilla. She continues to guide her childe Jax to this day. I just don't have a backstory for this beauty so she'll be mentioned but not written if I ever write about her and Jax.
Back to her dress. I was feeling burnt out over the weekend with stocking up so I was enabled by the yarn craft community and some friends to make things. I was going to make Felix (Caitiff) and Sarah (Malkavian, the best clan and my fave OC) but... Melody wanted to have some love that she rightfully deserves! So I looked at this rainbow sparkly yarn and I was like "Oooh! Melody's going to look good in this!" A skirt and a bikini top later, all free handed and didn't write down, Melody was looking like she belongs in Hawaii, not Ohio.
Next day, I was staring at her some more and wondered what else to add to her outfit. I remember having buttons and there was still some more of that yarn. I thought to myself "Why not a shawl?" and so a heart button and a shawl later, Melody had her outfit together. She still looks beach ready. Just having a bon fire on a beach in Hawaii, enjoying the cool salty breezing blowing in... I guess I have summer on the brain.
Not going to lie, I was hoping to have Felix and Sarah done in time for Valentine's Day because they're the only couple I'd be doing this month... I have no Valentine so that's why I wanted to make them... Maybe I can finish writing the night in story I was working on instead. I got Felix's new head done and working on Sarah's body and head... The original heads had to be put on the back burner because I lost the original skin tone and I was using and the one I'm using now matches them better. At least how I've pictured them.
An, if you're reading this, and I know this is out of left field to mention you in an art post like this... Could you please, please, please work on getting a picture section going because I would love to show my doll's outfit off.
I also wish I wrote down what I've done on Melody's outfit. I could of replicated it for Sarah's outfit when I get things done with job and things. I would of put in on my Ravelry shop along with how to make a doll base. I'm still working on that.
I just wanted to gush on Melody's outfit for the night since I haven't made a post in a long time. Well, feels like a long time.
