General facts: The belted beauty's are very gentle and harmless babies, they usually have a dark fur coat and pretty white silk stripes.

The male moths have wings, and a "/\" shape when they rest or sit on a plant. They really like dry areas and can be found chilling on things like the Kidney Vetch (Anthyllis vulneraria// pic below)

MMs fly in the early mornings or during the afternoon sunshine. They love flying in the warmish months March and April. Only really coming out when they see light.

The Female moths have no wings, This hasn't been something I've done alot of research on but I believe that FMs cannot fly due to the phenomenons they need to give off, the wings would usually block the scent they need to attract the MMs.

This doesn't mean all FMs don't have wings (they still can't fly as efficient as the male moths)

sometimes the females can have wings that are underdeveloped and physically cannot hold the weight of the body, especially when they are pregnant.

The FMs have a slightly advantage with looks. The FMs have more body and depending on the species more color, it helps to show the FMs MOI that they are worthy to be breeded.

The babies//caterpillars are born in May and July, they like to stay low to the ground as a over all species and really like veggies/plants like [burnet rose (Rosa pimpinellifolia), yarrow (Achillea millefolium) and black medick (Medicago lupulina) + other flower like plants just like the kidney vetch!!] 🌺
