Finished school on Friday, and now I'm on winter break! After many-a cram sessions, lots of hunching over and hurting my back, I can finally relax and enjoy some holiday leisure.
I lucked out hardcore this year. A family emergency came up so I don't have to go to my dad's house for Christmas this year. It's either that or rot in his house in the middle of Texas and become violently suicidal like I did in July. But that's not my problem now, so hurray!
Here's a fun fact about me: I live in the middle of the desert. It's not the biggest town, but it's not that small either. It's a weird halfway point of being big and small. But either way, I've lived in my hometown most of my entire life, and I'm pretty content with it. But the only drawback about it is that since it's... you know... the middle of the desert, snow is rare. It only comes once a year, and that's generous. So whenever people talk about white Christmases, I can't help but feel a little jealous since every Christmas I've had was beige.
Next week, me and my sister are hitting the mall to get some gifts for my mom. My sister already got her gift, but I assumed she'd just put her name on the gift as per years of Christmas past. But she told me I should start buying things for her myself, and I guess that's a fair point. See, here's the problem; I'm a 17-year old without disposable income. The only money I get is in cards from relatives every couple of months. But I've got a good $70 or so from gift money, so buying stuff for her should be pretty easy.
That's all from me this week. Hope everyone's having a great holiday season!
