Can you block people on here?

Most of this site is actually pretty normal, but I'll occasionally see the most unhinged shit ever. I don't regularly use the site, so im not too familiar with it. It's not that I go around blocking people 24/7, I just don't want stuff defending pedos or sexualizing children on my feed (feed?) or just stereotypical hatred.

Also, people who hate block features, why? It literally just makes it so they can't see your stuff and/or you can't see their's. Not judging, just curious what the thought process behind that is?
