Amsterdam trip!!

Hi guys!! Me and my girlfriend came back from Amsterdam on Tuesday. Our anniversary was on Monday and it was so nice!! She loved her present and I loved mine, but let me talk about the holiday as a whole.

We got to Amsterdam centraal on Sunday afternoon and managed to get to our hotel which had quite a good location. We had to get the metro so I was very happy to travel around and see what transportation was like: it was efficient and clean, so good! I also have an Instagram mutual from the Netherlands, so we went to Urtrecht to see them. It was so nice to see another place and spend time with someone I hadn’t met yet. We tried a Dutch food that was really nice and reminded me of something from my culture, and then we went back to the hotel and relaxed for a bit and shared our presents :))

The next day was our anniversary so we woke up to have breakfast at the hotel, then we had time to chill before we went out. We went to the Anne Frank house and a boat canal trip that was a tour of the Amsterdam light festival! My girlfriend bought us a hot chocolate with whipped cream which was amazing!! Then we walked around a bit and stumbled across a protest for Palestine so we stayed for a bit. My girlfriend really wanted to try Surinamese food because she saw a place to eat while we were on the tram earlier, and we found the place and got some food to go. It was amazing!!!! Walking around was also lovely, and we got back to the hotel and watched some Netflix and stuff.

On the last day we checked out of the hotel at 11am so we had time to walk around again and buy some food and extra bits before getting the train back. I had cramps because I started my period so we got some medication!! But we got to the station early and went through the checks and played uno while waiting, and we slept, listened to an audiobook and talked in a group chat we’re a part of before going home.

I can’t wait to go again, I would definitely go for a longer time though. Amsterdam and Utrecht looked lovely, there was space to walk around in Amsterdam even though it was busy, and the transport was fast and helpful. I’m so lucky to be able to go to places with my girlfriend and celebrate a year with her. I’m really happy to be with her, and I hope we can go there again and other places.
