12/14/23 *UPDATE

Maybe I should have written the previous entry now, except for 10 minutes ago. Geography is once again a free day. That’s alright. I have to make up an old assignment. I’ll do that know, kill 2 birds with one stone

Over my summer, I spent a lot of time with my older step-brother. My step-dad went on an early three week trip to pick up my step-brother from California. Usually it’s three days, but this time he wanted to see his family and whatnot. I wanted to come along. My mom said no. I held that grudge.

When Isaac—step-brother in question—finally got here, after settling in he pulled out the highlight of our summer. The Xbox X. I remember sitting on the couch, watching Isaac and our dad playing Mortal Kombat together. At the time, the most I knew about Mortal Kombat was that it was often too brutal for arcades, and obviously Street Fighter had to be better if that game could be seen prominently in arcades.

Isaac asked me if I knew how to play. I said no. He asked if I’d like to know. I didn’t have anything better to do. The moment I picked up the controller… I fumbled. He reluctantly agreed to go easy on me after stating that it was too much fun to watch me rage at the combos I had no knowledge about, not even understanding how to block his attacks.

I guess teaching me Mortal Kombat wasn’t the best choice. The tables turned, and he’s instantly get annoyed as soon as I’d ask to play. It was always Jade I’d play, I remember.

After we got tired of Mortal Kombat, we started playing the newest Street Fighter. I didn’t exactly like that game. Until I found Chun-Li. It seemed like Mortal Kombat was repeating all over again. I felt unstoppable.

Until I was stopped. Everything was. Isaac had to go back to California due to his job scheduling. That made me upset, sure. Yet, I had no authority. He needed his money, and his foreseeable opportunities  for college. So, we hugged goodbye and he left.

Maybe it’s lazy to play video games all day for summer. Who am I to say much about being lazy. I’m not a federal agent, so I can’t target anyone. Especially since I hate hypocrisy, and I did the exact same thing. I think kids should enjoy their summers however they wish to. That being said, I’m still waiting for summer to come back.

I didn’t want to write all of that. I don’t care, lunch is soon.

I have to be careful.

They’re taking up the tablets for break. They may go through them, like they did Thanksgiving Break last year. I never messaged people on the tablets last year. Had no one to message. Now all the good kids have loosened up. Everyone does it. They can’t possibly discipline us all. ISS would be filled to the max.

I’ll have to wait and see.
