Tony Soprano beating up Dahvie Vanity

Tony is having a meeting with his crew at the Bada Bing when he gets a call from Carmela, who tells him that she found AJ and his friends in the backyard shed, smoking synthetic marijuana with a strange man who claims to be a singer. Tony is furious and rushes home to confront his son. He arrives to find AJ and his friends high and giggling, along with a flamboyant and tattooed man who introduces himself as Dahvie Vanity, the lead singer of Blood on the Dance Floor. Tony is disgusted and enraged by the sight and demands to know what AJ is doing with this “freak”. AJ tries to defend himself and his friends, saying that they are fans of Dahvie’s music and that he invited them to hang out with him after his concert. Tony does not buy it and accuses Dahvie of being a pedophile and a drug dealer. He grabs him by the collar and drags him out of the shed, while AJ and his friends protest and beg him to stop. Tony throws Dahvie into his car and drives off, leaving AJ and his friends in shock.

Tony takes Dahvie to a remote location, where he interrogates him about his intentions with AJ and his friends. Dahvie insists that he is innocent and that he was just trying to be friendly and share his music with them. He also claims that he is a big fan of Tony and that he respects his work. Tony does not believe him and threatens to kill him if he ever goes near his son or his friends again. He also warns him to stay away from New Jersey and to never perform in his territory. Dahvie pleads for his life and promises to do whatever Tony says. Tony decides to spare him, but not before giving him a brutal beating and taking his money and jewelry. He then dumps him on the side of the road and drives away, feeling satisfied that he taught him a lesson.

Meanwhile, AJ and his friends are worried about Dahvie and wonder what Tony did to him. They try to call him, but his phone is off. They also search online for any news about him, but find nothing. They fear that Tony may have killed him or worse. They decide to keep quiet about the incident and hope that Dahvie is okay. They also vow to never smoke K2 again and to stay away from any shady characters. They realize that they made a big mistake and that they should have listened to their parents.

The next day, Tony returns home and finds AJ in his room, looking depressed and remorseful. Tony tells him that he had a talk with Dahvie and that he will not bother him or his friends again. He also tells him that he is disappointed in him and that he expects him to behave better and to focus on his school and his future. He warns him that if he ever catches him smoking K2 or hanging out with losers like Dahvie again, he will send him to military school or worse. AJ apologizes and promises to change his ways. Tony hugs him and tells him that he loves him and that he only wants what is best for him. He also tells him that he has a surprise for him and that he should come downstairs. AJ follows him and finds a brand new guitar waiting for him in the living room. Tony tells him that he bought it for him as a gift and that he hopes that he will use it to express himself and to pursue his passion for music. He also tells him that he has arranged for him to take lessons from a friend of his, who happens to be a famous rock star. AJ is overjoyed and thanks his father. He hugs him and tells him that he loves him too. Tony smiles and tells him to go ahead and try it out. AJ picks up the guitar and starts to play, while Tony watches him with pride and affection. The episode ends with a fade to black and the sound of AJ’s guitar.
