RANT AHEAD!!!
Well my first day here sucked. I know wonderful start. But I ended up realizing some crazy ass shit. Like how the reason our host lost his love for music was because of our family members, the ones that told us our instruments were out of tune and instead of helping us made us feel like we were tone deaf. Like instead of saying, "Oh I can help you tune your guitar or violin," they went, "I don't want to hear you play if you aren't going to tune it right!?!" I'm sorry were we supposed to be playing fucking Mozart as soon as we pick up the violin? NO of course not, because that's a stupid thing to expect a BEGINNER to know with any instrument. That would be like if I handed Milo an electric guitar and said, "Ok so I need you to play Head's part in say "Freak on a Leash" perfectly first try. It sounds dumb but it's true. It's a dumb thing to do, plus making him play every time he was with family and had his instrument with him only made him shirk practicing more! He would go and see these particular family members after school, so in order to bring his instrument home he would have to play the same 4 Christmas songs over and over so that they had live entertainment while cooking or decorating. Which wasn't fair to him at all. He has talent and a passion for music but it was wasted by people who kept telling him he would be poor and that he wouldn't get past tuning his instruments. I saw him working with Brian, another alter of ours, on the Ukulele, playing the previously mentioned song, "Freak on a Leash", just having fun, and our host was hitting the chords really well. Like he was changing fingerings rather quickly, especially for not playing the Ukulele for so many years. He loves string instruments. And he's good at playing them too.
Kinda just wish our family weren't such assholes.
