prince and the dressmaker by jen wang is a gorgeous graphic novel about a transgender princess :3
an oldie but goodie is the alchemist by paulo coelho, beautifully goes into islamic culture

yuhhhh since they're both pretty popular (ones a fairy tale, the other is a Journey Where You Make Friends) i recommend just checking them from ur library first to see if its ur vibe :)
