Tony Soprano at Chuck E Cheese

Tony and Carmela decide to take AJ and his friends to Chuck E Cheese for his birthday. Tony is bored and annoyed by the loud music and the kids running around. He decides to step outside for a smoke, but the person at the front desk, a young and eager employee named Brad, tells him that he can’t leave without a wristband. Tony argues with Brad, saying that he is just going out for a minute and he will be back. Brad insists that it is the policy and he can’t let him go. Tony gets angry and threatens to break Brad’s face if he doesn’t let him pass. Brad stands his ground and says that he is just doing his job.

Meanwhile, AJ and his friends are having fun playing games and eating pizza. AJ notices that one of his friends has a pack of cigarettes and asks him if he can have one. His friend agrees and they sneak out of the back door to smoke. AJ lights up a cigarette and feels cool and rebellious. He doesn’t notice that his father is watching him from across the street.

Tony sees AJ smoking and is furious. He storms over to him and grabs him by the collar. He yells at him for being a stupid kid and a bad son. He slaps the cigarette out of his mouth and drags him back to the front door. He pushes past Brad, who tries to stop him again. Tony punches Brad in the face and knocks him down. He tells him to mind his own business and stay out of his way. He takes AJ inside and tells Carmela that they are leaving. Carmela is confused and asks what happened. Tony says that AJ was smoking and he had to teach him a lesson. Carmela is shocked and angry. She scolds Tony for being violent and overreacting. She says that he is a bad father and a bad husband. Tony says that he is a good father and a good husband. He says that he is just trying to protect his family and his business. He says that he doesn’t need anyone to tell him what to do, not Brad, not Carmela, and not Dr. Melfi. He says that he is the boss and he makes the rules. He says that he is Tony Soprano and he does what he wants.
