Small love vent

I don't understand that when I get to finally liking someone and expressing my feelings they always back fire and back out even when they actually like me back. I feel that when I finally begin to be myself around whoever I am in a relationship with they get scared and run or misunderstand. I literally just want to be loved for who I truly am and not scare someone away. I'm sorry for whoever reads this...
