Just a rough draft about my social media experience.

Once upon a time I was 17 a few months away from 18. My neice who is only a year younger than me told me all about this website called MySpace.  I told her I remembered hearing about it some on the news. She then told me that I had to make one. Before leaving from her visit she gave me her MySpace info of how to find her if I did decide to make one. So a few days later there I sat in front of a school computer.  I was kinda bored remembered about what my neice told me. So took out the paper she wrote for me. Made myself a MySpace account & sent her an add. I then over time began learning more about this new concept to me called social media. Eventually I was hooked. Would message random people hi. Learned how to browse for people in my area. Would get excited if I saw a familiar kind face & send them friend requests and messages. MySpace opened up a whole new world for me.

A few years later at 21 I was still a big MySpace user. MySpace had evolved so much over a few years. It was still exciting & there was ton of games to play on the platform. My favorite game at that time was this drinking game where we would send each other virtual drinks & chat. So along came Facebook of course.  I had heard people I know speak of Facebook.  Decided to give it a shot. There it was different.  You was told to use your actual name inorder to find people from your real life & they can find you as well. Ended up doing that. Of course I still perfered MySpace. So I would just ask my old friends I found on Facebook how to find them on MySpace & add them there. Slowly overtime I would participate more on Facebook,  however found myself constantly still enjoying MySpace.

Overtime Tom sold MySpace to someone else & here became the end of it. Felt more like for awhile Facebook & Twitter were my only social media options.  Eventually other social media platforms like Instagram & Snapchat came along.  Liked them a little,  but not nearly the same as the original old school MySpace.

Things I ended up hating about Facebook was them giving me flags when I decided to change my name on there to a nickname.  Hearing how people were able to get tracked down by complete strangers or enemies in their real life just by knowing their first & last name along with their place of employment.  Just only touches a little bit of the issues.  (Might make another blog explaining more issues overtime.)

Well was very glad to hear about SpaceHey. This is my second day on here. It's nice to be able to customize a profile again. Hopefully overtime this platform will evolve like the old MySpace did once upon a time ago. I still of course am trying to learn more about how to do certain things on this site. However maybe overtime it will become somewhat of the same welcoming atmosphere as the older MySpace we once knew of several years ago.
Maybe we can all remember what it was like? Anyways, if you got to the end of my blog then thank you for taking the time to read. Feel free to talk about your own social media experiences in the comments.  I would love to read them.
