How MCR saved my life

I used to self-harm. I didn't really respect myself or care about myself, either. I was really depressed. I used to think, what's the point of this life? Do I even need to LIVE this life?

Then one fateful day, I found an amazing thing. It was the story of a young boy from New Jersey who saw 9/11 happen and started a band with his three great friends.

And that band saved lives.

Including mine.

My Chemical Romance isn't just a band. It's a spirit, and it's the spirit of kindness, caring, sticking it to the man, emo music, not being afraid to be different, and supporting each other. They could have sang about sex, nudity, or anything else stupid, but instead, they sang about things that saved lives.

I didn't just decide that i wanted to live after that. I decided that i wanted to LIVE after that.

I got an electric guitar for Christmas that year.

I wanted to be a rockstar.

I wanted to carry on the legacy of My Chemical Romance.

I still listen to them all the time now.

If not even more.

And i pray, to this day, long live My Chemical Romance. <3
