jesus thoughts

one thing abt me i am a bible belt boy at heart. i may not necessarily be religious but i’m also not NOT religious and this is in my blood.

anyways into the thoughts. so. churches, i’ve noticed, have an… odd view of jesus. a view of him as this detached, godly figure. they say his light is warm but in reality the way they depict him is more like the cold, sterile lights of a hospital, or government building. under the cold lights, there is no room for mistake. there is no forgiveness.

BUT THATS AGAINST THE ENTIRE POINT!! jesus was not just a figure of untouchable holiness!! he was a man. that’s it. he was just a man. THATS THE POINTTT. 

he was the son of a mother and a father. he was a carpenter. he was kind. he was just a man. church focuses too much on the detached godhood when the morality of jesus comes from the inherent kindness of his humanity and i think. that is what is missing from a lot of churches.

saw this one tumblr post getting torn apart on twitter but they cooked it said something like ‘do you think that jesus, son of a carpenter, smelled the wood of the cross and briefly thought of home.’ THEY COOKED!! this is the essentials of christianity. but the essentials of christianity today are fucking LOST by people who have torn the religion to shreds for their own uses.

anyways me n jesus r chill like that’s my bro. don’t like god. not a fan of god. but j man and i are bros that’s the goat.
