And yet, all the Jester seems to crave is autonomy
He complains constantly of how he is controlled,
How he wishes for freedom over his actions,
But as soon as someone lets him make a choice over something,
Even something trivial,
He will freeze,
He will shake as though in fear,
He will cower,
They will ask, “what do you think?”
And if he can’t figure out exactly what they want to hear from the prior conversation,
He will stammer, “I am sorry, I do not know,”
And excuse himself instantly.
