Beware scammers

I got my first scammer on Tellonym (https://tellonym.me/deryckeleven) and below is my open answer to everyone, but more people will likely see it here. There’s more scams out there, but this is a start.

Hey everyone, I know Reddit has a reputation, but r/scams is a real helpful place to get info if something seems suspicious. Offers from a stranger to send you money is suspicious.

You never have to receive additional funds from the buyer to upgrade your account status.

Don’t ever send back an overpayment or “accidental recipient”, they can initiate a refund on their side if it’s a legitimate person actually sending money through the app. But they didn’t. They are sending a fake screenshot from an unofficial email address. Look at the email domain in the header info.

Google the phrases in the email or FB Marketplace listing about their dead son’s PS5 or cheating ex’s new iPhone.
