i wouldn't mind the new color for the update if they didn't stick dms in a completely different section. it now takes extra steps to get from dms to servers. so bad. also you can't swipe left to see members and who's online. you have to tap the top of the screen where the channel / dm name is. why. and of course it runs like shit now. you can't change back to the old layout either anymore.
something interesting i learned in my ui class this year is that when an application adds more and more features then the amount of people using it drops because to the masses, more options makes things more confusing and overwhelming for them. it just sucks that discord mobile was a pretty accurate representation of its desktop version and now...
the need to split everything up is something i despise. the mobilefication of ui. don't worry. everything you need is only a thousand clicks away. the irony in trying to simplify what was there is that it overcomplicates navigation by adding superflous extra steps that weren't there before. they just simplify and simplify until nothing's left...
i can only hope that they don't change the desktop app to match the mobile now but i don't have a good feeling about it

it's literally so bad like nobody asked for it either.. instead of fixing their app's problems they decided to mobile-ify their app and with horrible ui and it's so confusing. and the colors suck too! since i have android i managed to download an .apk file of the 203 version i believe and make it go back to normal but i don't think it's possible on ios... sucks. they don't even put it as optional
i also have android but haven't tried to restore it to a previous version. not having the old layout as an option sucks. and you know even if they did offer it as an option they'd probably just force the new layout on us eventually down the line...

yeah exactly, i just really hope they listen to people's opinion this time but i think it's gonna be difficult if it's discord we're talking about

im glad im not the only one who actually despises the new layout, its just so much fuss like it was perfectly fine before :/
