CEMETERY GUIDELINES <3

I've been visiting the cemetery a LOOOOT recently, on walks around my town. And its always uber nice and a really calming atmosphere that honestly helps me reconcile my fears about death and dying. And as someone who's seen people who also visit the cemetery and do the complete opposite and just be complete assholes, I'd like to offer guidelines from my own personal experience for people who might wanna start exploring cemeteries as well.

1. Do NOT tread on peoples graves >:(

I’d like to think this is common sense but this actually tends to happen a lot for some strange reason. Literally it's not that hard to walk around bros and it's just plain mean at times.

2. Do NOT sit on gravestones or take pictures on graves

Again, this is just one of those things that should be common sense. You wouldn’t want someone to sit on your grandmother’s grave? Or take a picture kissing their partner on your grandpa’s gravestone? It’s just rude :’(

3. DO bring flowers for the empty graves

This is very much my own view, but whenever i go to the cemetery sometimes i'll pick flowers or buy flowers to leave on barren graves because i think about two things.

• How i’d literally melt if i passed away and someone recognized me somehow and left something kind on my grave

• How the family of whoever passed would feel if they saw someone had flowers on their loved ones grave

It’s just a nice thing to do :D

4. DO talk to the graves 

This one might turn some heads, but I'm drawn to the idea of spirits. (my family has always had very interesting and unique beliefs in terms of spirituality). So I go to graves and I just talk! Talk about life, usually the positives, what i'm working towards, whats going on in the world. I tend to keep conversations light, just be kind and chill!

5. DO say a thank you for being allowed into the space

Just something my mom told me awhile back, you walked into a place that isn’t yours, appreciate the space you enjoyed!
