hold me the way you did
that stifling summer night
when cicada’s love songs
soaked us in heavenly delight
and got drunk off the feeling
of an unspoken craving divine
for the touch of your fingertips
creeping steadily up my spine.
dandelion felt skin; delicate, feathery,
careful and all falling in between
seeds carried restlessly by the wind
hold my wishes, resting on green
pastures and lush embankments
amongst reeds where we once sat
yet reminiscing on faded memories
engraved in my heart, my lovenote falls flat.
mutually familiar arms then tangled
in lustful embraces; now forgotten
afraid i lingered far too long in giving
so little. thus to my blame, faulty rotten
apples lay degraded, disenchanted
at my own two painstakingly sore feet
decaying over time, just as our love
was getting so sickeningly sweet.
because of my fangs, i bleed
