Aah, Kitchen. What a ride. And not even a proper ending? What happened? :( The buildup was going smooooth. I adored every single moment of Yuichi and Mikage's relationship. Yuichi is genuinely such a well done character- honestly, we need more men like him. I still stand by the fact that this book should have a Ghibli adaptation. Kitchen by Banana Yoshimoto is one of the purest books out there. It feels like a warm spring day, a story taken straight out of a Ghibli movie. Eriko's, Yuichi's and Mikage's relationship is so pure it aches. They're all unique characters, making the novel even more interesting and deep.
