The more I think about it, the crazier a comment a professor made implying fanfiction is not real writing is to me. Like, it's how I started writing and the way that fic authors are better than some books being published will always gag me. It gave jealousy lowkey but that's just me(aye that rhymed.) Anyway, here is a snippet of a 'FNF AU' I'm writing called FNF Tagging (the story is based on Jet Set Radio lowkey):
“I don’t want to make it seem like I’m trying to start something but,” GF pauses and thinks of the right words to say before continuing, “ever since I got here you seem to give me the cold shoulder... I am trying to be nice. We both are dating BF, so I don’t see why we can’t get along.”
“Of course, you don’t get it, princess-”
“See, that’s exactly what I’m talking about! I got initiated in the gang, helped in getting a record piece, and helped the gang learn magic! I don’t know what else I can do to not get your condescension, Pico!” GF’s voice is more upset and aggravated now, with her staring daggers at Pico. He, however, is still focused on his work, disinterested in the conversation.
“It’s not what you do, Red, it’s about who you are.” Pico puts down one of his Uzis he has completed work on to start on the other. He’s more agitated than before, trying to ignore the whispering voices before they get overwhelming.
“What’s that supposed to mean?!”
