What is the true reason of life?

As a kid I was always asking my mom what is the reason of life.

She said that everyone has another reason of life thats special.

But if thats so than why do we have rapist, pedophiles, killers, mass shooters and all that stuff who do nothing special for the world.

I think that the real reason of life is not important, what is important is that you should do what you want and not do what the other people say.

Cause at the end you will die and what do you want to be the last thing you will think about.
