Direction, Purpose, and Intent

Writing is hard. Anyone who doesn't write will tell you that. Writing is easy. Anyone who can shit out submissions to pad their freelance portfolio will tell you that.

Unfortunately, I'm the former. Work, bad video games, YouTube and fucking Twitter don't leave me a lot of time to do something I've found solace in for years, which is to write. I didn't join SpaceHey to write per se, just thought it was a cute revival of a unique time on the internet... But with exploration comes discovery, and with discovery comes smashing rocks together trying to recreate a spark.

I find blog formats very intuitive for artistic-oriented writing. Serials, reviews, opinions, catalogues, what-have-you, all seem to thrive much more on barebones, user-focused platforms rather than in publications, at least in my opinion. I'm personally much more inclined to read a review on a contribution-based platform rather than an outright publication like Kerrang!, Metal___ dot whatever, zines, etc.

It feels more natural, no? I would rather hear the input of a passion piece rather than a body of words fashioned by a deadline and butchered by an editor. Maybe I just have issues with past experiences.

Regardless, this brief post is meant to set the stage.
First and foremost, this will contain nothing but the truth, ie my opinions, which are always as honest as they can be.
Secondly, I refuse to give myself deadlines or content expectations due to Bad Brain Syndrome and that this won't be my full-time gig, side gig, or even passion project at times.
Thirdly, you can expect a variety of entries, ranging from reviews to opinion pieces. Please be a good reader and give me your honest feedback in the comments/DMs. Even if I don't take it into account, I want to hear it.
Fourth, this is a testing ground. I don't enjoy the RYM layout, system, or userbase, but I do see the merit in filling in blanks for smaller releases so I might repost some reviews there. I do also intend on putting lipstick on a pig and republishing my work on Medium as well.

I think I covered everything.
