slept thru the whole day...whoops, post op: day 3

another harrowing day recovering like the bravest girl on the planet. watched the f1 qualifying in silverstone in the morning, which is also the first time i've sat somewhere not my bed or in the car since surgery. none of the house pets come up in my room so it was nice to spend some time with them downstairs <3

first nap was about four hours, 11am-3pm. texted a friend who i was supposed to hang out with that i'd woken up and that she could come over whenever. an hour later i let her know i was fading fast and continued to sleep until about 6:30pm. we've made dispensary plans and a possible sleepover for next week which i am very, very excited about.

the only comparable full day of sleep was a couple weeks ago, when i slept through a random wednesday till 5pm while readjusting to eastern time zone in the us about a week after getting back from italy, which is abt 6hrs ahead. during that day of sleep, i was also making up for what i'd missed by traveling internationally and then getting off a plane and immediately to a dead&co concert which had resulted in abt 6hrs of sleep over 48hrs.

anywho, showered and took off bandages with my mother's help in the evening. the bandages were what i've been the most stressed about. it's nice to have them off - they were caked w/ dried blood and i was glad to have the help, pulling at the tape was noooo fun. now that they're off, i'm getting more exposed to how tender everything is feeling. the sensation like my chest is going to fall off is fading slowly. feels like a new recovery phase being entered. hype.
