Our society fails children, it’s as simple as that. Reflect on your life (be you an adult or child) and think. How much did your parents help you, your school system? Did they give you all the things you needed to be truly successful, happy, and prepared for the world? What were your struggles?
For many of us, our struggles can seem massive. Trauma, Abuse, Assault, Neglect, Harassment, Torture. For the vast majority of us, we grow up in broken homes, to broken parents, to a system that breaks us.
Sometimes we are broken in big ways, sometimes in small ways. But once you know how to spot the injuries, it seems nigh impossible to find someone who was not broken sometime in their life. It’s a nearly universal experience.
Despite this near universal experience. There seems to be a near universal silence on the matter. Some voices speak out, some activists fight, but to many children they may not even know they are supposed to have rights. They do not know that there is an entire struggle around the quality of their life. Or that their life even matters all that much. The cycle of pain often just continues without much sign of stopping.
Children
do not get to choose where they are born, into what families, into
what environments. They only must take it.
Children often
are seen as property, as things to hurt, as things to project on to.
Adults indoctrinate and manipulate their children into believing that
this is good. That it is for their health. That that adults always
know best. It is a miracle so many even survive this onslaught.
Despite
this all too common, immense pressure. Children are expected to
become ‘successful’, to not embarrass their parents, to not
become ‘burdens’. To ask as little of their parents and to be as
high performers as possible. This is asinine.
The CLF aims to change this state of affairs. The CLF is a radical departure from the usual organizational methods. We aim not to just do normal activism, though mere advocacy, adult education, speeches, or otherwise… but also direct education and organization for the liberation of children, with their direct involvement.
Through these actions we aim to provide children with resources they are not (but should be provided). Community, Education, Solidarity, Healthcare, even Love.
We aim to educate children on their role in society, themselves as a class, social skills, emotional skills, how to identify and combat manipulation/abuse, about their bodies/minds, and their health. To create an organic, resilient, and healthy independence. One that allows them to become happy and healthy contributors to our society
