Anyone else find it funny how common north and south high schools are

By that I mean rival high schools named “north” and “south.” Probably an American only thing.

I find it kinda funny (in a sad way) how despite how much we teach kids that slavery was bad we still glorify the civil war, and have them cheer for their team that is representative of the slavers in the civil war.

Same thing kinda applies to the Native Americans but in a less ironic and more grim way, despite how the natives have been treated by the British, French, Mexicans, and everyone else that occupied the land we have cars, streets, towns, and hell even attack helicopters (aka something designed to kill) named after them. It feels like ghosts of what has been done to these people live on in the world we put in their place, and we put those ghosts there. 

Shit I wanted to make a silly post at 1 am to cheer people up and got really philosophical instead. I hope this derailing doesn’t become a trend
