A lot of social issues regarding gender and sexuality would be helped by feminism, if you ask me. No one truly comprehends how deeply misogyny runs.

Like, okay, we all know feminism is to help women. But people really don't get how much that helping women would help everyone.

I feel like... a lot of transphobia is seeped in misogyny. Think about it, if men and women are equals, then why is it so bad for a man to become a woman and vice versa, hm?

Trans women are seen as either pathetic or as creeps. To conservatives, trans women are confused homosexuals who don't understand how biology works. They are debasing themselves by being womanly, because to conservatives women are lesser than men. To trans-exclusionary radical feminists, trans women are creeps. Because to these anti-feminist "feminists", men are better than women, so the only reason why a "man" would want to be a woman would be to prey on women, because they see women as helpless victims and men as inherent sexual predators.

This is why trans women playing in women's sports is such a big deal. Because these misogynists see men as better and more capable then women. And if you see trans women as men, then... Yeah. Personally, I think sports shouldn't be gendered at all and instead should have various weight and strength classes, but whatever.

This is also why trans women pissing in the women's room is a huge deal. Because obviously, all men are horrible sexual predators who can't help but assault every woman they see, right?

Trans men, on the other hand, are usually seen as confused women. Because women are all stupid. They don't know any better, you tell them that they're actually men and they'll believe you, because women are all stupid. Women are stupid and they're only good for their sex appeal, which is why it is very bad when women ruin their sex appeal by removing their breasts.

If women were seen as equal to men, this stuff would be much less impactful. Like, if men and women are similar equals then who cares about gender bending. But no, women and men are stark opposites actually, so this is the life we live.

Things have been a lot more puritan lately. That's to blame too. But feminism is against sex-shaming and supports sexual liberation, which would help that situation a lot. Remember when free the nipple was a thing? Nowadays women get called pedophiles for breastfeeding their child.

Just. God, man. Don't even get me started on how much better it'd be for men if feminists got their way. Women get custody of kids more often than men? Maybe if we stopped stereotyping women are child caretakers that would change. Men are put down for crying and feeling emotions? Maybe if women weren't stereotyped as being over-emotional, and thus rendering it womanly to feel emotions then that'd change too.

I don't know if it's time to pack it up and start the fifth-wave of feminism, but something big needs to happen soon. How can we ever hope to overcome all these social prejudices when half of the Earth's population is seen as lesser than the other half?

But yeah. Man. We just really need a strong feminist movement right now. A movement that's pro-gay, pro-trans, pro-sexual liberation, pro-man, and more.

Not to say that modern feminism is full of man-haters. But there are some out there, and not to be a man that's against kill all men jokes, but I'm telling you that hating us doesn't help. Because you know what hating all men does? It reinforces the idea that men and women are inherently vastly different. We're not! Acting like we're two different species is anti-feminist. We are equals.

Of course I don't care about women punching up and blowing off steam by making anti-men jokes. But if you actually unironically think that men are inherently evil, you are part of the problem.

It's sad because some women think that we don't need feminism anymore. My family, for example. They tell me that they don't need it anymore, they can vote, they can go work any job that a man can work. They feel equal. But, what about other women? Bodily autonomy is such a huge thing right now, especially regarding reproduction. Women are literally dying because abortion is illegal. Women have to fight tooth and nail just to get doctors to take them seriously. Just, god.

I dunno. 'Course this wouldn't fix everything, I'm not saying that. I didn't even touch on racism or ableism. The legal onslaught against trans kids is also born from seeing minors as brainless subhumans along with USAmerican stranger danger paranoia, for example. So gender equality would only go so far there. And then the puritanism is from Christianity, separate issue mostly. And none of this is even touching the fact that true equality is impossible under capitalism anyways.
