how do I work this thing lol

I'm still trying to figure out how to change the contact setting, but overall I think I have a hang on this, though if anybody has a proper tutorial on where and/or how I'm supposed to put the premade contact alter I found that would be greatly appreciated because those YouTube videos are not helping - -"
