Lone Ranger

If my house burns ablaze

I would be lost in the haze.

For it consumes all around

Nothing to be found.

To save myself and those I hold dear.

I fight and try to shed no tears.

Try as I may and try as I might.

My fight will only be a plight.

For I forgo aid in hopes of strength

To fight by myself I go to great lengths.

A lone cowboy in the face of the sun

I won’t stop until I’m done.

But as the flames subside,

And the day becomes nigh.

The lone cowboy cries.

Trying to protect what he holds dear,

He destroyed all that was near.
