I got my first-ever professional pedicure today! I got my nails painted white. It looks absolutely wonderful, and it was interesting having people working on my feet. Not to get weird or anything, but experiencing preening and general cleanliness behaviors feels so good. However, scalp massages will always be the best! I also realized how hairy my legs were while I was there. I shaved them this evening; goodbye winter legs!
It truly is summer now. The high is supposed to be 91 degrees tomorrow! I took some cap and gown photos at my school today, and, well, the gown is hot. We're supposed to wear our gowns zipped while we wait in the heat to receive a fake diploma! (We will receive our real diplomas a week after the ceremony). I need to make sure I have water before I leave. Also, the cap and gown photos we took weren't good, so we'll retake them some other time.
Oh, and my math placement test studying. Monday was rough, I didn't have a set schedule and tried to cram in too much information. Tuesday was better since I set up a schedule, but both Tuesday and Wednesday were kinda flops because I only ended up working in the morning. By Thursday, I was doing much better, and Friday was the most productive study day! Through this study week, I learned one thing; I don't remember anything about radicals. For whatever reason, I just never retained the properties and conjugate stuff for very long (likely because I rarely used it). Everything else math-wise hasn't been as bad, thankfully. I took a break today, but I'll review lightly tomorrow since that's the day before I am choosing to take the math placement test. Also, I really need to not freak out. When I freak out, I solve the problem incorrectly, freak out about an impossible answer, and then spiral. Besides, I've learned all this math before, and I have three tries to place into the math I want. This won't be a breeze, but it most definitely won't be Hell.
I also found an old thumb drive today. It contained a bunch of old shorts I made while I was in middle school. One of the "shows" I made was called Quick Toons. Quick Toons follow a middle-school-aged fox named Maple Syrup, called Maple, as she deals with embarrassing situations. It's clear from the episodes that I made that I created the "show" to deal with my own struggles of entering middle school having moved to a new school in the past year. Obviously, considering that I was eleven, literally, no aspect of the show is of great quality: the video is fuzzy, my voice is hard to hear, the dialogue is clunky, the audio is not mixed properly, and the camera angles are awkward and unclear. I still love it though. I'm still working on stories, although not Quick Toons, and at a much slower pace and at a greater scale. Maybe I can finally storyboard Viatora Lua Episode I this summer, we'll see.
Something that Quick Toons reminded me of was my old room and how it looked. My bedding was pink, I had an Eiffel Tower lamp, a Cinderella alarm clock, a colorful fuzzy rug, many stuffed animals, printed images, and drawings strewn across the floor and taped on the walls. Yes, it was maximalist, but it was colorful. It's not like my current room is devoid of color, but I don't think it's as cozy or screams current "me" as my old bedroom did. Maybe I can turn my dorm room into an equivalent. Also, there are more Quick Toons episodes than there are on that one drive. I hope to find the rest of them, even though I have no idea where they may be.
Also, Mother's Day is tomorrow. Happy Mother's Day!
Boa noite,
