Why are people so mean about choosing pads over tampons??

I'm sorry I don't want to be tip-toeing around hoping to god the string isn't showing, my body meanwhile is screaming in pain and cramps so if you need me I'll be playing sims 4 with my glorified diaper and a tub of ice cream.
