How did the activism to dismantle gender roles so that humans could freely follow their interests/strong suits, manifest into a socially mandatory confrontation with more definitives?

We were trying to abandon that entire notion; at least that’s what it seemed like.

What social freedom does additional designations even create?

We’ve literally made conforming to gender one of the most salient factors of our identities, which entirely contradicts its original purpose.

The prioritization of pronouns and the gravity we've put on gender identity has only made it an abrasive, more elaborate, and more potentially dangerous version of "blue is for boys," and "pink is for girls."
