Cartoon Network City

Today I remembered those Cartoon Network City commercials, I loved them when I was a kid.

I checked them out a few minutes ago and I just noticed that the background is made with 3D animation. I always thought they were real places or a real life setting, but I guess in order to make them feel cartoony it was logical to assume that they used 3D, even though I never consider it before (especially when I was a kid).

After noticing this, the bumpers didn't feel weird or dated at all. Which is really impressive considering 3D was relatively new at the time, and even more impressive these were made for commercials only. They hold well and sometimes they even look kinda real but that might be because of the low quality of the video.

Watching this I was instantly reminded of the Dare (Gorillaz) music video and watching it again as well, it looks like Gorillaz use the same technique. 

Is really interesting and I love this style! I wanna see more animations like these, at the moment the closest think I've found is the channel DeadlyComics. I'll search for more content like that, so If you know any media similar to this I'll check it out >_<
