ME AND MY SCOOTER

Today I bought a scooter 

And some family photos 

Of a family that isn’t mine

But now their pictures are

I scootered on the bike path

That connects the shore and train station

I stopped at a rocky access

Where people gathered

Families in groups

Me and my scooter 

I never got really into skateboarding

Because I couldn't grasp the board

my wavering hands without a hold

a balance act hard to upkeep

I like to take my scooter around

And lead it by the handle 

Secure over corroded asphalt
