hello today im gonna explain to u iz fans why zadr is bad!1!!!1!
number 1: its pedophilia bc zim is 16 in human yrs and dib is 11 actually idk if thats technically pedophilia but its a 5 y age difference also zim is 160 in irken yrs
number 2: its xenophilia bc zim is an 160 yr old ALIEN and dib is a HUMAN CHILD
number 3: irkens dont rlly have a concept of love anyways, but u might be liek "oh well zim in parent teacher night zim has a flashback of when he came out of that glass thingy and said 'i love you cold unfeeling robot arm' !!!11!!" bro thats a robot arm like cmon
number 4: it would be toxic and unhealthy bc zim hates dib and dib is unhealthily obsessed w zim to the point where in enter the florpus he just sits and waits for zim, his body becomes...disgusting because he's neglected himself so he can watch zim 24/7.

Personally, the main reason why I dislike it is bc of how sexualized it is by the fans. I don't see it as pedophilia [since Zim is portrayed as a kid and I personally see him as 11-12] and idc abt xenophilia, but so much ZADR content is just borderline cp.
onb, half of the zadr stuff ive seen is r34 and its literally so disgusting.

continuing what jhonen said, it's also kind of confirmed that zim is implied 2 be over 100+ yrs old, possibly 160-200 in irken years. in the show, he's technically 16 in urth years and dib is 11 so that makes it pedophilia since dib isnt even a teenager and zim is close 2 an adult. going back to what i said about zim be 160-200, in "tak: the hideous new girl", tak states how 70 years ago zim destroyed her life and in "nanozim" zim says, "i've been flying ships since before you were born!" implying that zim is older than dib.2

im not saying that you cant be in a relationship with someone older, but theres a line and zadr kind of crosses that. in another reply i made 2 someone else on this blog, i don't mind zadr if it's in aus. when i said this i meant to put where they're adults, because most fanfics have them as their show age, or older (but dib is still a minor, most of the time they made zim the same age as dib tho). i dont care if it's an au where they are ADULTS that can do ADULT things like do the deed. in comics like "a thin line", zim and dib i think are in hi-skool or in skool, idr, but theres a scene where they do...things. in most zadr fics, its horny shit and literal CP.3

Yeah, but I think it just comes down to how people see them, since Zim's age is never outright stated (at least not in human years) and he looks/acts like a kid. Jhonen himself said "All I know is ZIM is really old and isn't a kid himself. He's just really stupid and thinks fighting with human kids is a smart use of his time.", but that's just one tweet that doesn't really change his portrayal in the show.
11/12 and 16 is def pedophilia tho, and sexualizing them is inexcusable.

you had me in the first half BUT the "zim is 16 years old" is a very old lie spread by the fandom for decades now. jhonen confirmed multiple times already that zim is just a small adult.

I'm not a ZaDr shipper nor am I an IZ fan anymore. While I may be indifferent to ZaDr considering some of the shippers are really weird, I don't hate on people for liking it- because I do research. Jhonen has NEVER confirmed that ZIM is 160 years old, and I hate when people claim it's canon or whatever. People can portray ZIM as whatever they want because he doesn't have a canon age, according to Jhonen on his Twitter, HE doesnt even know how old ZIM is. He has been addressed as both a child and adult before in official media. And Dib is 12, not 11. Not a big important detail but where did you even hear that he was 11? Portraying ZIM as both an adult and a child would make sense. His height, immature temperament, having that his enemy is 12 yrs old, and the fact that he literally goes to school is enough to support someone headcanoning ZIM as, also, a child. But the way he's had so much experience in his "invader" career and how responsible he can be can also back up a headcanon that he is an adult. It matters on the person and their views. If they are shipping the two with the idea that ZIM is an adult in mind, shame on them. If Dib is "aged up", and then shipped with ZIM, fine (though I find this a little weird, because some people portray ZIM as a helpless little child and make Dib a perv, also if there's no story to the adult Dib it seems kind of weird.) If they are both viewed as children, then that's fine too. Plus, ZIM, even though he was pretending, 'dated' TAK for almost an entire episode. If he's an adult even pretending to be in a relationship with a child, that's hecking weird, so I doubt that's the case.

i assumed that dib was 11 in the show, since he's 12 in the movie and the movie is probably set a year after or months. jhonen said somewhere that zim is old, but im not sure. i dont care if people ship zadr and i don't have any opinions.
like you said if its aged up, fine. shipping the two while hc zim is an adult, yuck. the other way with dib, yuck also.
i personally don't ship zadr but i dont not like it.
