Freedom

I had a dream about my future. 

The other day. 

I flew past every thought that reminded me. 

Of my past 

I just kept moving. 

I held onto the pieces that helped me grow. 

I let go of the things that held me down and bound me. 

To regret and self-doubt 

I was no longer allowing my past to shape my future 

And how I saw myself this girl was free 

I so the new me floating above the old me 

I was becoming light again 

Floating into the clouds allowing my body to feel 

To feel peace, joy, happiness, and comfort 

A new experience but one that I welcome freely 

My past was floating behind me 

My future in front of me so bright and full of wonder and beauty 

I was ready to step into it with all of me
