Thanksgiving: The Dying Holiday [Originally From Bulletin]

It's pretty obvious that Thanksgiving is a holiday that's overlooked as everybody gets thrust right into Christmas the day after Halloween (and technically before Halloween gets here). People forget Thanksgiving exists until the week of. Here's what I think it's all about. People of the younger generations don't like to eat turkey. It's not because pilgrim costumes aren't marketable, it's because only the older generations buy turkeys for Thanksgiving. Everybody goes to the parents' house for Thanksgiving and puts up with it, but they sure as Hell don't want to bring home leftovers. So, here's what we have to do to save Thanksgiving. Stop forcing yourself to believe you have to eat turkey. Cook something else. Bake a pizza, make some Indian food, it doesn't have to be turkey! That's why Thanksgiving is waning away, it's because you know you can't stand turkey or the leftovers of that damn bird carcass!Get creative, damn it! ~Buzz Killer, Talking Zombie From Western Pennsylvania
