Medusa of the Seas

Some referred to her as 'the blob'
as she lay there glistening like
beached blancmange; how unfair -
she was born this way...
unapproachable, avoided like the plague.
Translucent skin, she shone
showing off her ethnic-styled tattoo
a subtle warning; keep your distance,
yet in the warmth of tropical waters
she glides with the grace of a swan
propelling effortlessly
as a ballerina with her frilly-edged gown
riding the crest of the waves
a jelly moon that blooms
bioluminescent.
The Medusa of the seas
with respect; not to be taken lightly...
The boys, splashing, larking about
getting tangled in seaweed
she lightly brushes past them
making contact with their skin
leaving her toxic poison
in lacerated Weals
they yelp and squeal
tingling, akin to electric shocks,
they run out of the ocean in horror
she mocks...
until motions of the ocean,
nonchalantly toss her out
stranded upon vast golden sands
slowly dehydrating
under 'God Sun'
her glossy gelatinous exterior, withering
death within the hour
leaving her deadly Sting.
