Angels and Reminders

What was Spring

When Fall would soon strike
Then Spring would fall into nothing

Fall would soon come around once more
Now all that was luminating and inspiring
Left to wither and die
This is at the hands of time

Who are we to enjoy the beech woods bursting into leaf
Or enjoying the sun getting higher in the sky as each day passes
All to be asaulted by the disappointment
It's bestowed upon us by the day ending to abruptly
And from it running, turning the other way

Making what seemed to be paradise
Turn until what was once bright become cold and dark
No flowers or leaves left on the trees you had yourself a time on
Forgetting all your responsibilities and problems

Spring is nothing but a reminder that we, too, will soon be gone
Each time I lift an arm,
It's a reminder it must be lowered and return to just being a mere arm

Everytime I smiled and laughed it struck me,
How often these same eyes will cry
These same lips will turn in a way all it can bring to others is sorrow
They would keep crying until one day they close,
Never to be opened again
While others go on to cry and laugh until they too are put to rest beneath this damp soil

One day I hope to be rested next to you
With my hand cold, but still loving and devoted
Sitting in the palm of yours
Us both enjoying the silence we've longed for in such an untimely manner

Listening to the laughs, the cries, and the shovels from above
Watching as others learn to understand
A stage that was once feared because uncertainty was deemed frightening is not at all exciting nor painful, but peaceful
Getting the occasional light from a new discoverer
Reminding you of the light you saw hit your face when you heared the angel's voice who's lifeless hand is now in yours for the rest of eternity for the first time
Something like a reminder
