I thought I needed me more than anyone else,
But I hate myself,
A paradox huh?
But both are true,
But contradicting.
I thought that if no one has understood me by now,
No one else ever will,
No one "else".
Because I felt as if only I could understand, find, and untangle,
Untangle these jumbled and messy, useless thoughts.
I try to untangle them.
When I finally do I gently wrap them back up, and put them back lightly,
But over time I always realize they're tangled again,
Like headphones left in your pocket.
I am confusing,
You said it yourself.
First day we met,
For some reason that made me smile,
It's a great feeling.
Although, you define me as confusing,
I was stunned when you could finish my sentences,
Explain how I'm feeling effortlessly,
All slowly, but efficiently untangling my thoughts.
But how??
Because according to me,
I'm the only one who knows my wallet is in the 3rd drawer,
And I'm the only one who knows my 7th poem is in my 2nd folder,
I'm the only one who knows my clothes are hung up color coordinated,
So how did you know?
How do you know exactly who I am,
I thought I, and only I can know who I am.
But as always you know how to do the impossible.
Well,
Now that you know me, I'll have to share me
No need to show you around,
Clearly you know where everything is.
Watching you unfold, and reorganize things I was too afraid to touch.
All with gentle hands,
It makes me feel alright.
Knowing I won't have to do all of it myself,
Thank you for untangling, unfolding, fixing, and reorganizing.
I'm grateful for your gentle hands and your coordinated movements.
How you can differentiate my dark forest of a brain.
I'm thankful for this because this also means I have someone to trust.
Other than myself of course.
Like others,
You aren't throwing my clothes on the ground,
You aren't mixing up my folders,
You're not tangling what needs to be untangled,
I'm glad I can trust you with my mess,
Just know you can trust me with yours,
We'll clean it up together.
All with gentle hands.
