All too often while answering a survey, my experience looks like:
"It depends."
"The question is wrong."
"It depends."
"Why is this question mandatory?"
"It depends."
"You're assuming too much."
"It depends."
At which point I close the tab and don't come back.
People don't want to know. They just want their biases confirmed. WTF.

Oh no :( I've come across plenty of surveys with questions that make me uncomfortable, or make me wonder "why would you ask that," but never any like what you've described. Sounds really frustrating and unpleasant :/
