I’m sure any of us who have considered looking into the topic of environmentalism has seen the common “three years left to change”, or the “top 10 things you can do to help the environment”, these two combined however are never helpful, as these are about what you can and should do, not what we should do.
We will turn more lights off, but not consider the fact that we wouldn’t have to do that if power companies didn’t rely on coal for their power. This can be applied to everything, consuming less meat for ethics despite the industry around meat still being the same with or without our purchases.
It’s important to consider that just because you, 1 person, changes that wouldn’t be significant in a world with billions of people, but, it would be significant if people organised and demanded change, as we near our inevitable doom with politicians showing little to no interest, it is now or never that we stand up against these people, and show them that we will not stand for their hypocrisy and uncaring nature towards fellow people
