An Ogre in the machine shop (normal creative writing approach #1)

The guideline for the story: It's a rainy, cloudy and fairly quiet day. There's railroad tracks with occasional passing trains, a rooster that crows out down the block and there's metallic chiming going on around the building in the background past the greenery. Picture included down below.

To me this is approach is pretty conventional with nothing too unpredictable.

As he heard the rooster crow down the block, Eddie wiped the powdered doughnut residue off of his navy blue uniform shirt and opened the refrigerator to grab his Pepsi. It was one of those Frigidaires from the 50's made by General Motors that sat on a creaky hardwood floor. The ambience was of coffee, dust bunnies, moth balls, burnt oil and the Doobie Brothers playing on the radio. "Damn, if I only I could restore my Cadillac like Rob did this old fridge" Eddie thought. "They don't make them like that anymore, nowadays these blasted space age appliances only last a good 5 years if you're lucky" he continued. With that he got back to work fixing the lathe that one of his coworkers nicknamed "Ogre" had run into the ground. "Son of a bitch this bolt is all corroded!" and he tosses the wrench out the window. "Ogre, when are going to grow up and stop being so careless!" He yelled out in frustration. "Why don't you make yourself useful and grab me a monkey wrench and some WD-40". Ogre replied, "Okay"  and fetched the items.
