Random word: Approach
Song 1: Approach To Danger by N.W.A. / Genre - Hip-Hop
Rating: 8/10
"N.W.A (abbreviation for N****z Wit Attitudes) was an American hip hop
group from Compton, California, United States widely considered one of
the seminal acts of the gangsta rap
sub-genre, sometimes credited as the most important group in the
history of hip hop. Active from 1986 to 1991, the rap group endured
controversy due to the explicit nature of their lyrics, and was
subsequently banned from many mainstream U.S. radio stations"
Kind of hard to dislike N.W.A. Insane production, instrumentals, lyrics, everything. I'm not too huge on N.W.A. cause I've never gone through their catalogue but I probably will now since I got a little incentive.

Song 2: Approaching Pavonis by Balloon (Utopia Planitia) by The Flaming Lips / Genre - Neo-Psychedelic
"The Flaming Lips is an American neo-psychedelic band, formed in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States in 1983. The Flaming Lips are known for their lush, multi-layered arrangements,
spacey lyrics and bizarre song titles. They are also acclaimed for their
elaborate live shows, which typically feature animal suits, puppets,
streamers, video projections and complex stage light configurations."
I can't really enjoy psychedelic stuff too much cause if I want instrumental stuff I usually listen to electronic type music but I can appreciate it. Getting some Pink Floyd vibes too but as an influence more. Decent song.

Song 3: The Approaching Curve by Rise Against / Genre - Punk-rock
"Rise Against is an American punk rock band from Chicago, Illinois.
Formed in 1999, and originally performing under the name Transistor
Revolt, they released a self-produced demo entitled Transistor Revolt in
2000, a year before signing with Fat Wreck Chords to release their
first two albums, The Unraveling in 2001, and Revolutions Per Minute in
2003." Also a funny thing I found: "The members of Rise Against are straight edge (with the exception of Barnes), and are all either vegetarian or vegan."
Not really my thing but it's okay. I can't get into the singing vocals, a similar sound (kind of) that I've enjoyed a bit more was The Offspring but I'm not the biggest fan.

Song 4: Approach The Bench by The Audition / Genre - Pop punk (?)
"The Audition are a pop/rock band formed in Chicago, Illinois in 2003." yep.
I'm not a big fan of the style or vocals. I don't really like this genres chord progressions it just feels too bright for the sound but in the intro it's a bit less apparent so I like it a bit more. Not a bad song just not for me.
Song 5: Potion Approaching by Arctic Monkeys / Genre
"Arctic Monkeys is an indie rock band formed in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England in 2002 after meeting at Stocksbridge High School. The band's rise to success started in late 2004/early 2005 when demo
songs which had been handed out in CD form at gigs found their way onto
the internet. These demos rapidly spread among message boards and
friends leading to a growing fan base for the band, and were collected
on the unofficial Beneath the Boardwalk, which the band recognizes on their website."
I knew Arctic Monkeys for a while just by name from a friend's friend that liked them a lot but I never listened to the band, and through TikTok I heard 505 which I like quite a bit and I tried listening to their album AM but I couldn't really get into it. This song was okay but I still prefer the sound from 505 so maybe I'll check out Favorite Worst Nightmare but I'm not too interested.

Extra Song: Specimen by Daisy the Great / Genre - Indie Pop
Rating: 7/10
I did this song because I was originally going to do Specimen as the random word but like 90% of the songs were from unknown artists and I prefer for them to have a little online presence. Anyways: "Daisy the Great is a Brooklyn based band fronted by Kelley Nicole Dugan
and Mina Walker. From their delicate, harmony-laden folk pop songs to
their powerhouse indie rock ballads, Daisy the Great is recognized for
their killer vocals and playful spirit."
I liked this song quite a bit, it was cozy even with the strange lyrics (which are a plus as well I liked them a lot). I might check the band out more but they were compared to AJR (and they literally have a song with them) which is an enormous red flag for me but this song was nice.
Added to my playlist.
I'm just gonna keep doing the blurbs from Last.fm and stuff since it saves me time. I got work tomorrow so hopefully I don't forget to do this before 1AM.
