I was walking home from school yesterday and I got stopped by a group of muslim girls who were asking me a question (i couldn’t hear it i was wearing headphones). I was shitting myself because I usually just get hate crimed lmao.
And when i took my headphones off they asked me if what i was wearing was a hijab (it was a pagan veil). I debated with myself whether or not to lie and just say yes to make things easier, however i don’t look very muslim.
Anyway, i told them it was a pagan veil and they started asking questions. I was expecting them to make fun of my faith or some shit but i was pleasantly surprised.
They were curious and seemed genuinely interested in learning about the religion that i follow, so we ended up having a conversation about who I worship and how I worship gods and what it means to be pagan.
Overall it was a rather nice conversation and i left feeling a little more faith in humanity (as well as still shitting myself because that adrenaline rush was intense. i was prepared to throw hands.)
i guess the moral of the story is that not everyone’s an arsehole.
