God, where do I start with this war? Lately, I've been thinking of all the parallels between this war and the so-called 'War on Terror' that started after 9/11. I can't help thinking of what the U.S. did to Afghanistan, and how the same situation is playing out in Ukraine. The refugees who are POC getting rejected and hate-crimed at the border to a country that's supposed to save them. It's all so incredibly sad and I can't help but empathize with those refugees, seeing as how I'm an immigrant myself. I can't shake the feeling that I'm gonna have to return home if the U.S. decides to go to war, or if Putin is truly mad enough to invade a NATO country, dragging the U.S. in. I don't know. I was following Russia-Ukraine before the invasion happened, and I truly believed that it would never get this bad. The world is truly hell. I also can't bear the thought that so many of us are privileged enough to never truly experience war, or the people that are rich and famous enough to attend something like Paris Fashion Week in France where not even that far away is a war claiming the lives of innocent people.
Everyone, I encourage you to not gain a prejudice for the Russians you might meet. They did not want this war. No one wanted this. Support Ukrainians anyway you can, stay informed, always use credible sources, and fact-check your info. Thank you, Спасибо, Дякую.
