Fernwood Botanical Garden

Today's blog entry will feature Fernwood Botanical Garden in Niles, Michigan.

A little browsing of Google Maps to find some place to vlog at in the Michiana region, I ran across Fernwood. I had no clue what to expect and decided to head to the other side of the lake to celebrate the one year anniversary of my YouTube channel.

And boy was I pleasantly surprised! The variety of themed wooded and garden areas is beyond anything I can properly describe here. You just have to watch the videos. And it is all run by volunteers. This place is really out in the middle of nowhere. Unless you are local to the area, or Googling nature preserves in the area like I was, you wouldn't even know this place existed. And this place easily rivals some of the biggest nature centers in the Chicagoland area. Check out their web site for more info.

Impressed by my one year anniversary visit in 2017, I decided to return in 2021 to check out their fall decorations. And while that was awesome as well, I also noticed many Christmas decorations being set up. Turns out they were setting up for their first Christmas lights celebration in 13 years! So mere weeks later lol, I headed back!
