the absurdity of asking for a pay raise and ignoring hyper inflation

ok so to simplify my argument about why we shouldn't EVER raise min wage let's just take a look at the average cost of a burger in each era

60's - $0.21

70's - $0.18

80's - $0.34

90's - $0.71

2000's - $0.77

2010's - $1.60

2020 - $2.65

2021 - $3.00

(2010-2021 pulled from menus due to unclear results actually i'm pretty sure a burger costs more than that but i also live in a sh!thole state soooo)

notice a trend? it's gone up between each decade (minus the 70's which had fluxuated minwage quite a lot.) i'd also like to point out, i know it seems like forever ago when we talk about it in decades but, it was only 60 years ago it was $0.21 my grandparents lived through that. it was also only 20 years ago it was below $1. now while i was too young to remember burgers that cheap (i mean 4-14 yr olds arnt buying these themselves why would i have cared back then?) my parents certainly lived that and for most of their lives too so yeah, it really wasn't that long ago these prices where cheap. as i mentioned earlier i was a kid during that time. what's the common factor between these? wage increases. let's track that real quick to prove the point. here is the minwage during the same eras

60's - $1.00/hour

70's - $1.60/hour

80's - $3.10/hour

90's - $3.80/hour

2000's - $6.73/hour

2010's - $7.40/hour

2020 - $7.25/hour (i'd like to take note that many love pointing out how 2019 was great economically so it's no surprise that there was a dip here)

2021 - $9.45/hour

maybe you're comparing and thinking that this isn't so bad. i mean, a burger now leaves you with $6 instead of $0.80 and that's true but, you also have to factor in it's not just the price of the burger that's increased. it's the price of everything that's increased. you're still as poor as you where before. (actually more poor due to how certain companies respond to hyper inflation.)if your response is to raise the min wage you haven't been paying attention to what raising the minwage has done so far.
