How it feels to read U.S. history/politics

What you are about to read is just a real-time thought process of a troubled teen girl living in the U.S. I will get side tracked and my writing will get messy near immediately, because I am stupid, and I feel too lazy to sound professional.

After years of being told "U.S. is the worst country and evil in every way and unredeemable!" and "U.S. is THE BEST NATION TO EVER GRACE THE UNIVERSE!!!!!" back and forth, actually reading about the foundation of the country really puts into perspective that nobody seems to understand this country at all, ESPECIALLY the people living in it.
Like NOW I'm being told the constitution was heavily inspired by Native American constitutions because many of the speakers who wrote colony (and by extension, the nations) constitutions, had often worked with Native Americans and learned and took inspiration from their culture and systems???
Which is like both a huge "woah that's awesome! I'm glad this country still has deep rooted ties to this lands actual history and original keepers!" but also "AND WE STILL LEAVE NATIVE AMERICANS OUT OF ALMOST EVERY POLITICAL CONVERSATION???"
I'm starting to get PISSED OFF here. We have taken so much inspiration and literally TAKEN things from these people, and yet they have NO power modern day and it sickens me. Hell, they're not even represented in our movies, yet we talk all this talk about why representation matters but nobody is gonna talk about the people who LIVED HERE originally. Like why are there more left-wing activitists in the U.S. talking about asian fetishization than the current reality of Native American culture and life, the way their voices are actively being silenced, and the way they STILL haven't gotten any compensation for the shit the colonists put them through. The fact so little is known about them by the average activist says enough, this includes me too.

And to get this out of the way, that example isn't me saying fetishization shouldn't be talked about, I'm like the FIRST person you'll meet who will mention why fetishes are a sexual disorder, need to be treated, and are often rooted in racism, misogyny, etc. BUT OH MY GOD PEOPLE, WHEN WE'RE TALKING POLITICS WHY DO WE NEVER TALK ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO'RE ORIGINALLY FROM HERE???
They're FUNDEMENTAL to understanding the country, and I'm starting to realize more and more that this blatant ignorance of their existence is directly connected to the way people don't understand the U.S.'s founding as a whole.
I also despise that patriotism has become a tool for political propaganda towards radical belief and violence. Patriotism belongs to the PEOPLE, just being passionate about the fate of the country is a form of patriotism, even if you want to reverse or change most if not all of it. That's a thought echoed during the entire revolutionary war damn it, and while the people who were the founders and spokesman of that war were often horrible in many aspects, that doesn't discredit the few good things and good ideas they did have. Can we see no nuance in individuals? Must we label them as entirely good or bad depending on what emotionally effects us the most? I am so sick of this, why can't we discuss individuals with all aspects of them intact?
Even the most cruel individuals have good deeds that can ripple throughout society, many famous artists who gave inspiration and show us beauty in the world had horrible secrets, we can criticize them while enjoying their work freely, in fact, I believe that's the only way to live in peace with each other.

We will NEVER overcome the oppressive figures binding us modern day, if we cannot take inspiration and pride in people, everyone is terribly flawed, but inspiration has a purity that continues despite that. This left-wing perfectionism is a byproduct of late-stage capitalism and you will NOT convince me otherwise no matter how communist you are. The individualist society has tainted your very mind, making you believe we cannot function as a community of simply well-intentioned people, no, you believe we have to be identical and perfected. Again, we NEED to hold everyone accountable and discuss the reality of how disgusting public figures were and still are, but there's not need to brush them off entirely, especially because bad people can still spark or be a part of great movements. For example, Sigmund Freud is often titled the father of psychology, he's very influential and gave us a starting point for modern psychology... he also thought everybody was incestuous deep down and wanted to fuck their parents because he had ISSUES. Doesn't mean everything Freud had to say was crazy, just means you CANNOT trust everything this lunatic says.

You do not have to be right all the time, you just have to be willing to learn. You do not have to say what people want to hear, you just have to be honest. Enough with this fake nice pile of shit, I want something real, something messy, something genuine, even in it's darkest corners. That is the only movement we can accomplish, through compromise and understanding we CAN do whatever we need to do. We also need to take charge through communal effort and radical compassion, if it works for religious evangelism, it'll work for material life and cultural movements too (I mean, if you know anything about sociology and history you know religion and culture are often connected and VERY similar in how they function socially.)

Instead of introducing boycotts under the concept of "instead of this company, buy from this company instead!" let use our hands and teach each other how to make things, and don't stop until that company fucking burns to the ground. They can buy their competitors, but we can always stop relying on the systems these companies thrive on. Like the women boycotting British goods to send a message about taxation, they learned how to sow and create their own garments so they did not have to rely on imported goods, and it fucking worked. There is things to take away, methods you can employ, genuine feelings at play, even if horrible things existed in a culture and beside those people at the same time, there's always something to learn. Unfortunately, every culture is inherently tainted by the worst of us, and using any neutral culture, power-obsessed control freaks can convince you to align with them if they have enough charisma (we're seeing it happen RIGHT NOW, that's like 90% of radical right-wing politics,) it is an inherent risk in having culture. The only thing we can do is take away the good, separate it, appreciate it, find the glint of hope in the darkest parts of history, and become the defenders of each other.

I genuinely think all those folks saying, "we in the U.S. don't have any culture!" wouldn't feel that way if they actually started doing what I was saying. This entire thing, this perfectionist individualism, it's the reason why cultural appropriation is effecting people on an individual level. THIS IS WHAT THE SYSTEM WANTS, GOD FUCKING DAMN IT. Enough with the jealousy, GO MAKE SOMETHING. Stop bragging about how woke you are and go DO YOUR OWN charity work, GIVE to the homeless, TEACH people important skills. I'm one to talk, but at least I'm trying and learning as I go. More than I can say for most people I've known, and that makes me very sad.
Find what you're good at, find what you can do to help the cause, and spread the word. Everything you are passionate about, everything you care about, you can make a difference, but only if you accept that you will NEVER be able to do it on your own. You just can't do it all, you savior-complex having bullshitter. I say that with love, I'm like that too as dumb as I know it is. Just work on yourself for crying out loud, don't overthink it
